There’s something so special about photographing a family in their own home during those first few weeks with a new baby. This in-home newborn session in Lafayette, CA was full of light, love, and the kind of calm energy that’s rare with a newborn—baby Von was an absolute dream.

At just four weeks old, Von was incredibly chill and easygoing throughout the entire session. He was content in his parents’ arms, wide-eyed at times, sleepy at others, and perfectly at peace as we captured the little moments that already make up the rhythm of their new life together.

Their Lafayette home was the ideal backdrop: open, clean, and full of natural light. The vibe was calm and effortless, making the whole session feel relaxed and intimate. Their nursery was a highlight—every detail thoughtfully chosen, from the soft textures to the calming colors. It was clear this space was created with so much love.

And of course, we can’t forget the family dogs! They were right in the mix—curious, gentle, and clearly just as smitten with baby Von as his parents are. Including pets in newborn sessions is one of my favorite things—it adds so much warmth and personality to the images.
